This 72 Gallon Bear Resistant Trash Receptacle - 2 Module is designed and tested to help keep bears out. It is certified by the Interagency Grizzly Bear Committee (IGBC) using the IGBC protocol, certificate number 5124.
The receptacle body is welded heavy 12 gauge and 14 gauge steel fabrication with 7 gauge bracing and a six-point surface anchor base with bolts included. It must be anchored to a hard surface to be considered "bear-proof." The sloped top includes easy-access 16'' square hatch openings, a self-closing commercial duty latch mounted under a formed steel guard, and a raised obstacle built into the top to block bear access.
Front access doors measure 29'' tall x 44'' combined width for liner access and include 2 self-closing latches. Doors can be padlocked closed for security, but the padlock is not included. The unit also includes an interior rain drain, 2 rigid 36-gallon plastic liners, 2 decals, and an anchor kit. Available colors are brown, green, blue, black, or speckled tan.
Optional recycling insert plate with 3 different diameter hole sizes is sold separately. Dimensions are 46.3'' W x 29'' D x 47'' H closed; 51'' D x 58.7'' H open.
