Fast Patch Tan is a poured-in-place rubber surface repair kit made for repairing the wear layer of poured-in-place surfacing on playgrounds, running tracks, and other rubber surfacing areas.
Each kit contains pre-measured tan EPDM rubber and binder, or glue, and all Fast Patch kits include aliphatic binder. Aliphatic binders are UV stable, not subject to ambering/yellowing, and can be used around pools or splash pads. Do not use aromatic binder repair kits, since aromatic binders will amber/yellow in the sun and are not suitable for contact with chlorine.
Available sizes include Fast Patch Small, Fast Patch, and Fast Patch XL. Fast Patch Small repairs 3 sq ft of surfacing at 1/2'' depth. Fast Patch repairs 6 sq ft of surfacing at 1/2" depth. Fast Patch XL repairs 12 sq ft at a depth of 1/2". The kits have a shelf life of up to 2 years or more.
General use includes cutting away the damaged area, cleaning loose rubber, mixing the binder with the pre-measured rubber, coating the repair edges, then troweling the mixed material smooth and allowing it to dry. For deeper repairs in the safety zone, use the base layer material if the repair is deeper than 1/2". Please refer to CPSC Publication 325 for safe zone guidance.
